Participants will learn how to use AI to streamline daily tasks, improve productivity, and strengthen donor engagement and fundraising efforts. From crafting personalized donor communications to supporting campaign planning and grant development, this session demonstrates how AI can enhance core nonprofit functions without sacrificing authenticity or trust. Attendees will leave with practical tools, ethical guidance, and clear next steps they can implement immediately to increase impact and long-term sustainability.
Bio:
Jonathan Liebert is an AI thought leader, author, and nationally recognized advocate for social innovation, small business development, and ethical AI integration for small businesses.
As the CEO/Executive Director of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Southern Colorado Impact Group, Jonathan leads transformative initiatives that fuse technological advancement with trust, purpose, and impact.
A leader in the AI space, Jonathan founded The Colorado AI Alliance, an interdisciplinary think tank of experts that are accelerating regional collaboration and education in artificial intelligence. He is the Chair of the National AI Taskforce for the National Association of State Workforce Board Chairs, where he strategizes AI policy frameworks focused on workforce development, economic equity, and digital transformation.
Jonathan is the visionary behind Colorado Springs' inaugural BLAZE AI Summit, a statewide gathering designed to empower small and medium-sized businesses with AI tools and strategy. He also teaches applied AI through courses like AI Powerup for Small Businesses, enabling business leaders to adapt and thrive in an AI-driven economy.
He is the author of Thought Partner. The Fusion of Soul and System: The AI Collaboration, a groundbreaking book exploring the synthesis of human and artificial intelligence. The work outlines a future-forward model of cognition and offers a practical framework for organizations and individuals to evolve alongside emerging technologies.
Jonathan is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where he developed the school's first Social Impact Strategies curriculum. A native of Colorado Springs, he has been honored as a Rising Star by the Colorado Springs Business Journal, a CiviCO Governors Fellow (2022), and a graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute (CSLI, Class of 2017).
He serves on numerous boards including the International Association of BBB and the Business Advisory Committee for the Colorado Secretary of State. Appointed by Governor Polis, Jonathan also chairs the Colorado Workforce Development Council Board.
Holding a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Health and Sciences Center. Jonathan brings a human-centered lens to technological transformation and supports and engages in efforts that build stronger, more resilient communities.

Built for executive staff and Board members, this session will provide practical tools, frameworks, and insights to build a strong, effective leadership team. Topics include clarifying roles between Boards and Executive Directors, improving team dynamics, and avoiding common pitfalls—all while keeping the work engaging and approachable.

With over 20 years of experience, Brandy has led fundraising, strategy, and leadership initiatives across multiple sectors and served in several executive roles, including CEO and COO. She is an active community leader and board member, and a recognized professional in the field.
We're exctied to invite you to a free, in-person Grant Writing Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 12:00 -1:00pm. Whether you joined us for January's workshop or are jumping back in to grant writing this Spring, this informal session is a great chance to reconnect, ask questions, and share progress with other nonprofit leaders.
Please note: This is a bring-your-own-lunch event. Lunch will not be provided, so feel free to pack something you can enjoy while we talk shop.
The discussion will be moderated by Akemi Trujillo, a Pueblo-born grant writer and public health advocate who pairs her data-driven expertise with deep community roots, having secured funding through grant proposals in 2025 alone.

Bio:
Daniel Minich is a proud Pueblo native and serves as the Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement at the CSU Pueblo Foundation. He leads alumni programming, annual giving, and digital engagement efforts that help strengthen donor relationships and support the university’s mission.
Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from CSU Pueblo and a master’s in Organizational Leadership with a focus on strategic digital marketing. This foundation has helped him build meaningful connections across the community. Just a few of these include work with AFP Southern Colorado, CASE District VI, and the Greater Pueblo Chamber’s Leadership Pueblo steering committee.
Outside the office, Daniel enjoys time with his wife, Katie and their four fur babies. He’s also known to host a good round of pub trivia and loves staying connected to Pueblo through local events.
