(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The Aspen Acres Fire in Southern Colorado has burned 98,752 acres and, as of Sunday, July 12, is at 36% containment, according to the Alaska Complex Incident Management Team 1 (CIMT1) Incident Commander, Jake Livingstone. 1,934 personnel are battling the fire.

The people of Beulah were able to return to their homes, though Jake Livingstone, Alaska Complex Incident Management Team 1 (CIMT1) Incident Commander, said the town is still under pre-evacuation for the Aspen Acres Fire that is around 98,609 acres and 36% containment.

Livingstone reiterated at the update briefing hosted by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office that while the incident command team is changing, the resources are staying about the same.

The Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office is placing all Forest Service land North of CO-69 to the northernmost Huerfano County line under a pre-evacuation notice.
