PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A Disaster Assistance Center opened in Pueblo Wednesday for Pueblo County and Custer County residents who have been evacuated or impacted by the “Aspen Acres Fire.”
City of Pueblo officials said the center opened at 1 p.m. at the Pueblo Academy of Arts, formally known as Pitts Middle School, at 29 Lehigh Avenue, near Pueblo Boulevard.
City officials said the center is a one-stop resource center set up to assist survivors with the recovery process.
Among the services that will be available at the center includes the victims assistance, United Way of Southern Colorado, food, Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment, behavioral health, the Department of Human Services, Red Cross, agriculture support and private insurance, officials said.
Officials said individuals will be required to have proof of residency to enter the center, which can include a photo ID with an address, a piece of mail, or another official document with an address.
The entrance to the center is on the east side of the school, entering from the parking lot off of Colgate Lane, officials said.
The center will be open the following days at these times:
Wednesday, July 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, July 2 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, July 3 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 5 – CLOSED
Monday, July 6 – from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
